Cultivating Community

The wisest man in the world, King Solomon wrote in Eccesiastes 4: 9 &10
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:

if one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!

We are relational beings, we need one another, to encourage and lift each other up! We need someone to hold us accountable! I am thankful for the inspiring and loving people God has put in my life to be a friend and mentor. I pray God help me to be the friend, mentor encourager, woman of God, he has called me to be.

Being a Loving Mother...

I spent the past two days caring for my youngest daughter. She manages a shoe store in Abq and is a very strong leader, responsible, caring young lady. She had a stomach flu, (first time she's been sick in a year) so I went by and checked on her. She ended up coming back to Santa Fe with me & her Dad. She spent the night at her Grams, who she adores & her sister, who was her best friend growing up. Grams made them frito pies and they all stayed up talking late, having a great time of fellowship!
My husband & I prayed for her and with her. We discussed these times that we live in and she admitted when watching the news and hearing all the bad things going on, it can be a little depressing!
I encouraged her, reminding her that there is Hope! We read scripture together, In Psalms 112:7 He will not be afraid of evil tidings, His Heart is steadfast, Trusting in the Lord!
I told her that God is Faithful and has always helped me when I am faithful to read His Word and cry out to him in prayer. Tonight, I am reading, Isaiah 12:2, Behold God is my Salvation, I will trust and not be afraid for YAH, the Lord is my Strength & my Song, He is my Salvation! Many have been calmed and assured by the words, "Fear Not"! I pray that God give us the Grace to Trust Him, no matter what is going on around us!

Success At Last...

I did it! I swam laps for an hour at the Genoveva Chavez Center in Santa Fe! Loved it! Doesn't feel like you're exercising when you're swimming. I prayed, spoke to God, asking Him to give me Strength, Energy, Wisdom, everything I need to fulfill my destiny in Him and Live my Life for His Purposes.
It seems like we're always soo busy, our calendars are booked, we're looking after our family, keeping up with shopping, schedules, responsibilities & commitments at work, church; it's go, go, go. We stress out, our hearts are heavy and long for Rest, Peace. And yet, if you read God's Word, He has promised us Rest and Peace!
As the Psalmist cried out to God: Hear my Prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come to You. Do not hide Your Face from me in the day of my trouble; Incline Your ear to me, in the day that I call, answer me quickly! For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned like a hearth. Psalms 102: 1-3
In Mathew 11:28, Come to Me, All You who Labor and are Heavy Laden, and I will give you Rest. Take my Yoke Upon You and Learn from Me, for I am Gentle and lowly in Heart, and You will Find Rest for Your Souls! For My Yoke is Easy and My Burden is Light!
I thank God for His Lovingkindness and Longsuffering that no matter what I am going thru He is with me and He will carry me thru when I feel like I don't have the strength.
